CKD observes martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur

AMRITSAR: The Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) observed the 344th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur here on Sunday. Rendition of religious hymns by Raagi Jathas of Central Khalsa Orphanage and CKD school students created an aura of mysticism and spirituality.

The Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) observed the 344th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur here on Sunday. Rendition of religious hymns by Raagi Jathas of Central Khalsa Orphanage and CKD school students created an aura of mysticism and spirituality.

Speaking on the occasion, CKD president Nirmal Singh urged the students to follow the teachings of Guru for paying him a real tribute. He said Guru Tegh Bahadur was undisputedly the first martyr for human rights.  

Chairman CKD schools Bhag Singh Ankhi also put light on the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur and motivated the students to follow the footsteps of their Sikh Gurus who sacrificed their lives, comfort and families to serve humanity.

Prizes were given away by the management to the winners of Gurbani Kanth competition organised by the CKD Dharam Parchar Committee under the supervision of education committee. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were honorary secretary Swinder Singh Kathunanagal and Surinder Singh Rumaliyan Wale, resident president Harminder Singh, professors Hari Singh and Warayam Singh, principals of CKDCS schools, staff and other CKD dignitaries.
