Amritsar, July 21

The Municipal Corporation will plant 3,000 saplings in tree guards as part of its green drive. Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu said, “We will not going by the number but try to assure the survival. In the first phase, we will plant at least 3,000 saplings. Every plant would be protected by tree guard. We will assure 100 per cent survival of these plants”.

Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation is going to hire a private landscaping company for the upbringing of plants and trees planted by the MC. The same company would look after city roundabouts and traffic islands.

Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu and Chairman Improvement Trust Dinesh Bassi participated in the plantation drive by a coaching centre and planted saplings at Rose Garden in Anand Amrit Park.
