Amritsar, September 3

City based theatre actor Sajan Kapoor will be seen sharing screen space with global stars Dev Patel and Radhika Apte in the Hollywood action-thriller The Wedding Guest film is set to release in India in December. Directed by British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, the film opened at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival last year and released in US early this year.

The film is extensively shot in India and its Amritsar schedule was shot early in 2018. Sajan, who has earlier worked in Punjabi movies, plays the role of a hotel manager. “I shot three scenes with Dev Patel and Radhika Apte, as they play a couple of the run. The scenes were shot at a hotel near Golden Temple and it was extremely overwhelming to share screen space with critically acclaimed actors like these two,” said Sajan. “There were several rounds of auditions held in city as the crew wanted actors who can fluently speak English, since it’s an English film.

Sajan, who is a popular face of Punjabi theatre and has recently made his Punjabi film debut, said that while filming the scenes, he found Dev Patel to be extremely cool and amiable person. “He used to have some fun on sets when we were not shooting and he interacted with most of the people without much effort. Radhika Apte was extremely professional and private person. Both of them are very talented artistes and inspiring,” Sajan said.

He is now awaiting the film’s release in India. “It has already got international release and received well, I really hope that it releases in India on the set date. Personally, it’s a huge achievement for me,” Sajan added.
