CIA staff arrest 11 thieves, snatchers

Acting on a tip-off, the CIA staff have arrested 11 snatchers and thieves, operating near Golden Temple, and Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh.

Those arrested were identified as Sawinder Singh of Karalia village, Guarav of Kapoorthala, Pankaj Kumar of Haripura in Jammu, Rupinder Singh of Jalandhar, Gurpreet Singh of Ludhiana, Rajan Sharma of Gate Khazana, Samual Khan of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Balkaran Singh of Moga, Heera Singh of Sarangra village, Deepak of Kot Baba Deep Singh and Anmol Singh of New Gurnam Nagar.

Police authorities said the accused had formed a gang which used to rob or steal the belongings of devotees who used to come to pay obeisance at Golden Temple and Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh.

The police recovered 11 mobile phones from their possession. They were produced in the court and brought on police remand for further interrogation.
