Amritsar, April 16

Former Commissioner of Jalandhar Division HS Nanda, who was entrusted with the responsibilities as chief director, education, of Chief Khalsa Diwan, tendered his resignation, alleging “inconducive” working conditions.

Confirming the development, Chief Khalsa Diwan president Nirmal Singh said his resignation had been received, but not accepted yet.

“There has not been any communication with Nanda, but we will definitely approach him to reconsider his decision. We expected him to serve with the prevailing paraphernalia,” he said.

On the other hand, Nanda was adamant on his move and there are negligible chances of his rejoining.

He said he intend to cooperate with the infrastructure, subject to the condition that it should devoid of any politics.

“I have taken the decision to quit as I felt suffocated in the politically motivated atmosphere where there was no work culture. It was difficult for me to continue. I joined them to offer my experience and services free of cost. I served as Secretary, school education, technical education and higher education during my stint in the state government. I wanted to channelise the Chief Khalsa Diwan to a direction through which we could serve society and children in a better manner. I regret to say that the Chief Khalsa Diwan management has got deviated from the vision with which this institution came into being,” he said.
