BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina condemned the ghastly act of killing innocents in the terror attack on a Church in Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Addressing Christian community members in Ajnala, he said hundreds of innocent people lost their lives and several others were injured in eight blasts that rocked the island nation.

Expressing anguish, he said serious measures were required to worldwide to fight terrorism.

“The acts of violence in churches and hotels in Sri Lanka are appalling. My deepest sympathies go out to all of those affected at this time,” he said.

Chhina rejected all forms of extremism and urged people to stand for freedom of religion and the right to worship safely. “Collectively, we all must stand together to make sure that no one should ever have to practise their faith in fear,” he said.

Expressing solidarity with Sri Lanka and its inhabitants, Chhina said the forces behind such killings should be brought to justice at the earliest.
