Around five armed robbers took away a Swift car from a man at gunpoint from Dilawalpur village, 30 km from here, on Monday. The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case under Sections 379-B, 341, 34 of the IPC, and 25, 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.

The police said Gurmit Singh of Bhathal Bhai Ke village, along with his friend Gursharanpreet Singh, was returning to his village from nearby Bhail village in his Swift car (PB4602RZ0126) when four to five car-borne men chased and forced them to stop near Dilawalpur village. They threatened them at gunpoint and fled with their car. Gurmit Singh informed the police that his mobile phone was also in the car.
