AMRITSAR: Shri Ram Ashram Public School was awarded International School Award 2018-21 by the British Council for outstanding development of the international dimensions in the curriculum. Principal Vinodita Sankhyan received the award from chief executive of British Council, Sir Ciarán Devane on Monday at Chandigarh. This is for the second time that the school has won this award. School president Balbir Bajaj congratulated the principal for this esteemed award received for the second time. SN Joshi, manager-cum-educational advisor, expressed his joy by saying that the school feels proud at this achievement. TNS 

DAV student wins karate gold 

Amritsar: DAV Public School student Hiten Sharma has brought laurels to the school by winning gold medal in the 5th National Karate Do Championship held at Tarn Taran. He  clinched another gold in the 64th state-level school games (primary) held at Goal Bagh Amritsar. Dr Neera Sharma, principal of the school, appreciated his efforts and wished him success in his future endeavors. TNS  

Annual day  

Amritsar: The two-day annual day celebrations of St. Francis School began on Tuesday. Guru Nanak Dev University Vice-Chancellor presided over as chief guest on Day-I. Students took part in dance, drama, along with five elements of life. The chief guest congratulated and felicitated top scorers. TNS

Annual function 

Amritsar: St. Soldier Elite Convent School, Jandiala Guru, celebrated annual function of kindergarten with the theme ‘Extravaganza- the moment of joy . Tiny tots adorned as beautiful cartoon characters like Shin Chan, Chota Bheem etc. To add flavour to the entertainment, wonderful dance perfomances were done by LKG students. TNS

Foundation day  celebrations 

Amritsar: DAV International School marked its 20th foundation day in a function ‘Upasana Parv’ last week. Girl students of Nav-Prerna, a service unit of the school run by Dr VP Lakhanpal, were given sewing machines. School Principal Dr Anjana Gupta accorded a warm welcome to all dignitaries present. Chairman of the school, Dr VP Lakhanpal, regional officer Dr Neelam Kamra, and manager Dr Rajesh Kumar, were also present on the occasion. TNS

Placement drive   

Amritsar: Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance conducted placement drive at DAV College. Graduates and postgraduates participated in the drive. The company selected eight students, out of which seven were offered the post of insurance consultant and one was offered the post of consultant trainee. TNS
