Amritsar, March 21

A day before the hearing on the bail applications of nine accused in the suicide case of former CKD vice-president Inderpreet Singh Chadha, an air ticket allegedly of one of the accused has gone viral on social media.

This has led to speculations that the accused is trying to leave the country if he gets bail from the court. The victim’s family had also suspected that the accused would leave the country after getting bail.

The ticket has the name of Devinder Sandhu, besides an email and PAN, which is allegedly said to be of one of the accused. The ticket is from Bengaluru to Singapore dated March 27. The online ticket was booked from Haryana on March 21.

However, the authenticity of this development could not be ascertained as no persons concerned could be contacted despite repeated attempts.

LK Yadav, IG Crime, who is heading the Special Investigating Team constituted to probe the suicide case, feigned ignorance about any such ticket. He said his job was to investigate the case only. Yadav said whether any accused gets bail or not, judiciary would decide on it. Therefore, he could not comment on it, the IG Crime said.

Advocate Sarabjit Singh Verka, principal investigator, Punjab Human Rights Organisation, pointed out that the honourable court should take cognisance of the air ticket and get the matter investigated.
