AIIMS entrance examination: City student bags AIR 50

AMRITSAR: City student Suryansh bagged all-India rank (AIR) 50 in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS entrance examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.

City student Suryansh bagged all-India rank (AIR) 50 in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS entrance examination, the results of which were declared on Monday.

Earlier, Suryansh bagged AIR 348 in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), the results of which were declared last month. Suryansh wants to be an oncologist and he is interested in studying about cancer from a foreign university.

After securing AIR 50 in the AIIMS entrance exam, Suryansh said he was all set to take part in a counselling to get a seat in the AIIMS-Delhi.

Expressing her happiness, Suryansh’s mother Sudeep Kaur said, “It is a big moment for all of us. I was confident that he would do well but making it to the list of top 50 is a major achievement.”

Suryansh, who is a student of DAV Public School, said, “I am very happy. I was sure that I would perform well, but the rank is beyond my expectation. I am thankful to my teachers and friends for their support. I am hopeful of getting a seat in AIIMS-Delhi.”

He joined Wisdom Classes to prepare for the entrance exams and used to study for 10 to 11 hours in a day.

“I was very particular about my self-study. Timetable played a key role in my success,” he added.

Dr Neera Sharma, principal, DAV Public School, and staff members of Wisdom Classes congratulated him on this achievement.

Besides Suryansh, Harsimran Singh Grover also secured AIR 272 in the entrance exams.

Grover is a student of Sidana International School and also took coaching from wisdom classes. He said, “I used to spend eight hours daily on self-study.

Dr Jeewan Jyoti Sidana, manager, Sidana International School, said, “Harsimran has brought laurels to the school and city by scoring AIR 272 in the AIIMS entrance exam. He secured AIR-214 in the NEET this year.”
