After hip fracture, he hopes for quick recovery for marriage

The family members of Karmandeep, alias Ricky (25), who got hit in the train tragedy at Joda Phatak on Friday, is extremely grateful to the Almighty. With his marriage just 25 days away, the family is praying for his quick recovery.

An arhatiya, Ricky, has injuries on his face, left ear, shoulder, hip and foot. Having received a two-minute call from his fiance Gurleen of Khemkaran, he blushes, “I just hope that my fractured hip gets cured in some days and I am able to walk comfortably by November 16, my D-day.”

His mother Manjeet Kaur shared, “My son is a regular visitor to Golden Temple. It is providence that has saved him.” Soon to be groom, Ricky adds, “Also, perhaps the wishes of those few people l saved helped me come out. I had seen the approaching diesel multiple unit (DMU) train and was asking people to move but their attention was all towards Ravana which had been set afire just then. As train came near, a body flung into me and I fell off getting hurt myself.”

Ricky’s elder brother Naresh showed how a video that went viral after tragedy with Ricky lying in pain on the ground. “We really got panicky and started a hunt for him. We took him to a private hospital where doctors charged us Rs 25,000 in just one day, so we got him to the Civil Hospital,” he added.
