Various programmes were held to mark the anti-terrorism day in the city today. 

Officials of the district administration took oath to fight terrorism. Assembled at the District Zila Parishad hall, they were led by Assistant Commissioner Vikas Heera. In his address, Vikas called upon the people to wage battle against the terrorism. 

Officials resolved to follow the path of non-violence and tolerance. SDM Paramjit Singh, superintendents Anjana Mahajan, Sukhwinder Singh and Veena Kumari, and Deepak Arora, PA to DC, were present. 

At another programme, the Tarksheel Society showcased Tarksheel Sahit Van to students of Atam Public School. Society head Sumeet Singh said the objective was to make students aware of religious fanaticism. He said there was a high need to raise scientific outlook among the country men. Citing the examples of Russia and France, he said reasoning and scientific temper developed by intellectuals had turned to people oriented revolution there.
