There’s no dearth of talent in the holy city as another young actor, Suvidha Duggal, has made her mark with her debut Punjabi film Lahoriye. Suvidha has been associated with theatre thespian Gurinder Makana’s group and actively involved in socially hatting plays. Now, her debut film has brought some high hopes for the young actor.

“The film has received good reviews and I am glad to have worked with actors like Amarinder Gill and Sargun Mehta. I played a supporting role and the experience was quite great as I learnt the minute details about acting on screen,” said Duggal. Struggling as an aspiring actor for four years before her big break, Suvidha says theatre taught her a lot. “Theatre prepares you for facing the audience and helps you overcome inhibitions. I was cast by Khushbir Makana, who was working as assistant director, so the bonding on set was comfortable,” she said.

She is also working on an independent project of Sudhakar, a Mumbai-based director who is making a film on tribals living in the remotest corners of India. “It’s a project aimed at capturing the international market and I play a tribal girl. Its title is Kakarsh and will be ready for release in August,” she informed.
