897 students conferred with degrees at Global Institutes

AMRITSAR: Students of MBA, MCA, MTech, BTech, BCom (Hons), BCA, hotel management, airline and tourism of Global Institutes were conferred with degrees at the third annual convocation on Monday.

Students of MBA, MCA, MTech, BTech, BCom (Hons), BCA, hotel management, airline and tourism of Global Institutes were conferred with degrees at the third annual convocation on Monday. Education Minister OP Soni presided over the convocation. The degrees were given to students who passed out in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Soni received a floral welcome from chairman Dr BS Chandi, vice-chairman Dr Akashdeep Singh, directors Dr Rajesh Goel, Dr RK Ghai along with others. A total of 897 students got their degrees.

The guest of honour was Dr AP Singh, Dean, Research and Development, IKG Punjab Technical University.

Soni congratulated the degree recipients. He said, “I am delighted to participate in the third convocation of Global Institutes, which has completed 10 glorious years of excellence in the field of higher education.”

He congratulated the management for securing 11 gold medals of the PTU. He said, “The passing out students should work hard to meet the challenges of competitive world for ensuring the bright future of our country.”

Dr AP Singh, Dean, Research and Development, IKG Punjab Technical University, congratulated the degree recipients. He stressed upon the students to serve the downtrodden and weaker section of the society keeping in mind the national interest.

Twenty four students, who topped in their respective branches, were awarded with gold medals.

Sapinderjit Kaur of BTech (IT), 2015 batch; Aanchal Madaan of MCA, 2015 batch; Salwinder Kaur of MCA, 2016 batch; Harsimranjit Kaur of BTech (IT), 2016 batch; Akshay Kumar of ATHM, 2017 batch; Navalpreet Kaur of HMCT, 2017 batch; were honoured by the chief guest for their achievements.

Dr Akashdeep Singh, vice-chairman, Global Institutes, read the annual report of the institutes.
