4 students booked for impersonation

Four students have been booked for allegedly appearing on behalf of others during the Class X exam at local examination centers.

The police said the accused had been identified as Gurpreet Singh Gopi of Jhugian, Natha Singh, Kartar Singh, Kirti Bansal and Jaspreet Singh, all residents of Talwandi Sabo.

A case under Sections 419 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the accused.

Accused Gurpreet Singh was appearing at local Government Secondary School on behalf of his relatives Kartar Singh, Roll No. 1018805360. At the same time, Jaspreet Singh was appearing in place of Kirti Bansal, Roll No. 1018805301, at Government Elementary School in Muradpur. As a minor, Gurpreet was released on bail while Jaspreet was arrested. — OC
