3 women pick pockets held

The Galliara police have arrested four women on the charge of pick pocketing from inside Golden Temple premises here today. They were identified as Santokh, Magma, Malar and Anjali.

Police authorities said that following a tip-off, a police party raided the backside of Guru Hargobind Niwas in Galliara park. On seeing the police team, the suspects tried to flee. However, the police arrested them and found two mobile phones and two wallets with different identity cards in them from their custody. A case under Sections 379 and 411, IPC, has been registered against them at the Kotwali police station here.

Jaspinder Singh, in charge, Galliara police chowki, said that investigations were on to arrest more of their accomplices involved in stealing the belongings to devotees coming to pay obeisance at Golden Temple.
