Amritsar: The police have arrested a woman among two persons for allegedly selling intoxicants to addicts. A raid was conducted in Guru Ki Wadali where Lakhwinder Kaur and Jagdeep Singh were nabbed. According to the police, 50 habit-forming capsules were seized from them.

According to the police, 50 habit-forming capsules were seized from them. Residents alleged that they had warned the woman to shut down her illegal trade, but she paid no heed. They had informed the local police earlier also but when no action was taken, they approached Police Commissioner SS Srivastav who ordered raid. TNS

Woman raped

Tarn Taran: Gurpreet Singh Gopi of Jaur Singh Wala, 35 km from here, has been booked for allegedly raping a woman of the same village. The incident occurred more than 10 days ago and the case was registered on Saturday.  The police said the accused offered a lift to the victim who had to go to Patti, but he took her to some undisclosed place where he committed the crime. 400 examined

Amritsar: Around 400 patients were given treatment during the two-day free orthopaedic camp organised by Ivy Hospital which concluded here on Sunday. Dr Manuj Wadhwa said that the diagnostic services like bone mass densitometry tests, physiotherapy consultations, random blood sugar, blood pressure checks were also provided free of cost. TNS
