2 booked for assault

TARN TARAN: Congress leader Gurtej Singh and his wife Satnam Kaur, residents of Sangatpur village, 25 km from here, have been booked for allegedly assaulting and hurting the religious sentiments of an elderly baptised Sikh woman of the same village.

Congress leader Gurtej Singh and his wife Satnam Kaur, residents of Sangatpur village, 25 km from here, have been booked for allegedly assaulting and hurting the religious sentiments of an elderly baptised Sikh woman of the same village.The police said Bhupinder Kaur was grazing her animals when the accused attacked her and also “removed her religious symbols”. An old enmity is stated to be the reason behind it. Chohla Sahib SHO, Sub-Inspector Kirandip Singh said the accused too lodged their complaint against Bhupinder Kaur. — OC
