171 boys seek admission to meritorious school

Counseling for boys for admissions to Government Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students witnessed 171 seeking admission to the various streams of the school on Saturday. The counselling for girls would conclude on June 20.

Twenty nine seats have been left vacant in the boys school. As many as 120 boys have opted for non-medical, 40 for commerce, and 11 for medical.

It was the third day for girls’ counselling. As many as 77 girls opted for commerce, medical and non-medical. There are about 52 girls students who are interested in studying non-medical. The counseling is being held for the students who cleared the entrance examination a few months back.

Deputy DEO Rajesh Sharma said, “The counseling is on for the students. We have made all necessary arrangements. The counseling for girl students is yet to be completed.”

Among all meritorious schools, Bathinda school is done with its counseling as no seats is vacant. The figures for counseling for the Amritsar school shall be clear within a few days.
