16-year-old raped, two booked

Amritsar, June 19

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by two persons in Dalla Rajputa village on June 13. The victim filed her complaint with the police on Monday. No arrest has been made so far.

The accused have been identified as Sahib Singh of Bal Labhe village and Paramjit Singh of Dalla Rajputa village.

In her complaint to the police, she stated that her parents had gone to her maternal grandparents’ house. In the evening hours, she went out to answer the nature’s call when the accused “forcibly” took her on their bike to sugarcane fields. She said Sahib Singh raped her for the whole night and threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone.

When her parents returned next day, she narrated it to them. The police got her medical examination conducted. Raids were on to nab the suspects, the police said. — TNS
