Amritsar, April 16

In the process to add to the aesthetics to Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, a huge steel sculpture at the main entrance of the airport has been installed.

The 500 kg and 13-foot tall sculpture made is designed by local artist Sumeet Dua, whose works have earlier too been displayed at several key points inside the airport.

The sculpture titled Ball of Joy is placed at the centre of the main roundabout. It has two abstract human figures. “The sculpture has been designed in such a way that when we move on this round about, we can enjoy from each corner. The main idea behind this design is to greet the people, who have come to this airport. We have also tried to create best wishes feel to the passengers, who are going to other part of India and abroad,” said artist Sumeet Dua.

At night the ball is seen lit in different rainbow colours, which looks even more attractive. To add the aesthetics, LED lights have installed to illuminate this art work. — TNS
