10 booked for snatching pistol

AMRITSAR: A group of youngsters entered into a brawl with a resident and snatched a pistol from him at Ranjit Avenue Market. The suspects have been identified as Bikramjit Singh, Harmanjit Singh Mahal, Dilraj Singh, alias Topi and Dayal Mahajan.

A group of youngsters entered into a brawl with a resident and snatched a pistol from him at Ranjit Avenue Market.

The suspects have been identified as Bikramjit Singh, Harmanjit Singh Mahal, Dilraj Singh, alias Topi and Dayal Mahajan. Five of the suspects are yet to be identified.

In his complaint, victim Yuvrajdeep Singh told the police, “I came to Ranjit Avenue in my car. The suspects attacked me with baseballs and thrashed me. They also snatched my pistol.”

A case under Sections 323, 382, 506, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered in this regard.

No arrest has been made so far.
