Amritsar, August 12

Growing vegetables at home is surely latest fad among city residents. People have started growing vegetables and fruits even with limited space for their own family. Vegetables are easy to grow for healthy living at your door step. Many city residents say that organic vegetables have become ideal choice of their loved ones.

Gunbir Singh, president of the Dilbir Foundation, says, “Natural kitchen gardening at home ensures nutritious meal.” He utilises green waste for generating compost to prepare natural fertiliser.

“Homes can become zero garbage households if people adopt in-house kitchen gardening and simple composting techniques,” he says. Gayatri Peshawaria, chef, founder of Gayatri’s gourmet, who has been promoting the idea of organic healthy food among schoolchildren through her Gayatri’s gourmet, feels it is important to teach basic farming skills among people to lead a healthy life. — OC
