The third day of Rangmahal theatre festival dedicated to Amrita Pritam was all about a tragedy called love. Written and directed by Sudeep Sohni, the play 'Story of an Untitled Canvas' delved deep into the human heart and its various stages of dealing with personal loss. Guilt, hopelessness and a constant struggle with life to get back on track again made the central subject.

The play presents the story of a man, whose unrequited love for a girl and his attempt to let his feelings known to her causes her to meet with an accident. Her fate unknown and a heart full of guilt, Rishabh (the protagonist) spirals down into depression, self loathing and a life of isolation, until he meets another girl Kamya. But this time too, fate has different plans as she is an escort and the truth becomes too harsh to handle for Rishabh. Once again feeling defeated in love, he finally moves to another town, with a new hope to find meaning in his life, this time with an untitled canvas and some colours.

The audience response to the festival has so far been tremendous and with two more days to go, the weekend looks good, said Preetpal Kaur Hundal, organizer of the festival.
