Amritsar, April 16

The star cast of the upcoming Punjabi flick ‘Khido Khundi’, which literally means ball and stick, was in the city for its promotion. The movie stars Punjabi singer-actor Ranjit Bawa, Mandy Takkar, Manav Vij, Guggu Gill and marks the debut of Elnaaz Norouzi. The movie is set at the backdrop of Sansarpur village in Jalandhar, known for producing 15 Olympians, who brought laurels to the nation in hockey.

“This film very closely relates to the sentimental values of the village, known as the Mecca of Hockey. Many Olympic medals have came from that one village and the heroes have been forgotten now,” said Bawa.

He stressed that the story was not about a particular person or event, but about the bravado of two NRI brothers and their passion for the game. Directed by Rohit Jugraj and produced by Talwinder Hayre, the film is slated to release this weekend.
