Amritsar, February 23

“The people of Delhi have voted Kejriwal back to power because of the work done by him,” said Harinder Singh, member, National Council of Aam Aadmi Party at a press conference on Sunday.

He said other states had started replicating the ‘development model’ of Kejriwal and the party would soon reach out to every household in the state regarding this.

Jeewanjot Kaur, the co-convener of the party’s state women wing, said while the Delhi government spent 26 per cent of the total state budget on education, Punjab could allocate only 10 per cent of its budget. She claimed that the Delhi government had performed well in terms of providing good health facilities and basic amenities to the people, whereas Punjab Government had “failed” to deliver in these sectors.

The party released a mobile number (9871010101) to connect more people. Inderbir Singh Nijjer, head, state grievances and discipline committee, said as many as 1,65,128 people joined the party since February 19, when the mobile number was launched by MP Bhagwant Mann.

Nijjer said people across the country had become tired of the “politics of caste and colour” and would now vote for development.
