Tarn Taran woman bags 11th rank in PCS (Judicial)

Perneet Kaur (28), a resident of Fatehbad village, 20 km from here, has made the village proud by bagging the 11th rank in the Punjab Civil Services (Judicial) exam, the results of which were declared recently.

Her father-in-law Dr Balbir Singh said she was always eager to compete in the civil services exam. She prepared for the PCS (Judicial) on her own for one year.

As soon as the results were announced, residents of the village thronged their house to congratulate her.

She got married to Dr Raul Singh, senior registrar, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, five years ago. After finishing her BDS, she did LLB from Guru Nanak Dev University.

Perneet’s father Shinder Singh is a former circle education officer and her mother Paramjit Kaur is retired from the Education Department.

Perneet’s father said she had always performed well in her studies and used to bag the first position in her class during her school days.

Amandeep cracks exam in fourth attempt

Amritsar: Amandeep Kaur Rathor, a resident of the city, also cleared the PCS (Judicial) exam. She gave credit for the success to her family. “I cleared the examination in my fourth attempt. I was depressed after I could not clear the exam in my last attempt. Later, I decided not to give up. Optimism, constant study and family support eventually helped me crack the exam,” she added.

Earlier, she was selected as Assistant District Attorney. Her father is retired from the Army. — TNS
