Celebrating the first-ever national trophy in CBSE Heritage India Quiz for Punjab, team of students from Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar, trounced all to become the national champions in the grand finale of the highly acclaimed event held in New Delhi.

Welcoming them to school after their win, Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society, shared that the school quiz team, comprising, Gursidak Kaur Boparai, Raghuvansh Wadhwa and Nitya Singhania, guided by their mentor Neeru Issar created a history when they outperformed their competitors by a huge margin to bring the glittering trophy for their school.

“Thousands of teams from all across the country participated in this highly acclaimed competition, held in different phases including an online qualifying round followed by cluster and regional level rounds to shortlist eight best teams for the semi-final round and surpassing all these rounds the Spring Dale quizzers competed with the four best teams shortlisted for the grand finale held at New Delhi, where they were awarded with the coveted trophy by Nidhi Chhibber, chairperson of the CBSE,” shared Sandhu.

While congratulating the winning team and their mentor, school principal Rajiv Sharma stated that Heritage Education has always been an integral part of the school’s teaching-learning process and the students have always been given the first-hand experience of the contribution in conservation and promotion of the heritage, under the Heritage Programme of the school. “Quizzing is integrated as a knowledge-based skill in the regular academic calendar of the school giving an advantage to our students. No wonder they have won three national level quiz competitions, back-to-back during this academic session,” informed Rajiv Sharma.
