Bollywood singer Pawni Pandey, who is better known for her song ‘Laila Main Laila’ of Shahrukh Khan-starrer Raees, is looking forward to begin her new phase of her career as an Independent artiste.

She was in the holy city to seek blessings of the Almighty for her first Punjabi single ‘Bore Ho Gayi’, which will be released on November 19. The three-minute peppy song directed by Vijay Dutt Vikas depicts the story of a newly married woman, who complains to her husband.

“I began my professional career with a Punjabi song in early 2000s. My grandmother is a Punjabi, making the occasion much more special to me and my loved ones. Vikas Ji and I had been planning to do something for a long time. Here is our single,” said Pawni, the voice behind popular Bollywood number ‘Sweety Tera Drama’.

The singer, who fared well in different reality shows such as ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il champs’ during her childhood, feels that reality shows have failed to boost the careers of aspiring singers in today’s time.

“Nowadays, there are a number of reality shows and multiple participants. The attention of the viewer is bound to get divided. Therefore, it becomes difficult for an aspiring singer to establish themselves on the basis of a particular reality show,” she said.

The 27-year-old is keen on utilising different platforms and is working with some of the leading music composers in the industry such as Amit Trivedi and Ram Sampath. She believes that it is a great time to be part of the music industry.
