7 cycles stolen from shop

Tarn Taran: Thieves struck at a cycle store at Noordi Adda on Thursday night and decamped with items worth Rs1 lakh. Anil Kumar, owner of the store, told the police that the thieves decamped with several items, including seven cycles and motorcycle tyres. He said they barged into the store by breaking the locks. The incident came to light on Friday morning. A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered. oc

Man held with 100-gm heroin

Tarn Taran: A man has been arrested with 100 gm of heroin from Jagatpur village. The suspect has been identified as Jatinder Singh, alias Jain, of Chhehtra (Amritsar). Sub-Inspector Sarabjit Singh said a case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspect at the Chabal police station. oc
