Rs 5.63 cr issued for smart classrooms in Amritsar, says Aujla

Lok Sabha MP Gurjit Singh Aujla has said a grant of Rs5.63 crore had been issued for constructing 75 smart classrooms in 43 schools of the district.

The MP said the grant had been issued under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) schemes.

Aujla said to develop infrastructure in schools, he had taken up the issue with the officials concerned of the Union Government.

He said a grant of Rs4.05 crore had been issued under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for construction of 54 smart classrooms in 28 schools, while NABARD had issued Rs1.58 crore for constructing 21 smart classrooms in 13 schools.

Aujla added that the state government has already constructed 888 smart classrooms in 447schools of the district.

The MPsaid all smart classrooms would be equipped with educational interactive boards.
