Amritsar: Irrespective of the high number of Covid-19 cases being reported from the district every day, social and political organisations are not evincing much interest in maintaining social distance and playing their role it seems. Balram Sharma, a senior citizen, said the entire onus was being fixed on common people, as they were being challaned for violating Covid-19 norms. He said many social organisations were violating norms but it hardly attracted the attention of authorities. Former health minister Lakshmi Kanta Chawla said the SAD was holding political rallies at Jalalabad, Amritsar, Ajnala, Attari, Tarn Taran and now, it had announced to hold another rally at Bholath. She asked the Capt Amarinder Singh government to prevent holding of such rallies in the face of rising Covid cases. TNS
