Over 5K litre industrial alcohol seized, 3 booked

Acting on a tip off, the narcotic cell of the city police confiscated huge quantity of industrial alcohol used for manufacturing of illicit liquor on Monday. The police have registered a case against three persons.

The suspects, identified as Mahan Singh and Kahan Singh of Meharbanpura village in Jandiala Guru and Mandeep Singh of Daburji, fled away from the spot. Mandeep is an owner of the canter, in which drums carrying industrial alcohol were stashed.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Richa Agnihotri, said the police seized 115 cans of 35 litre capacity and six drums of 200 litre capacity, containing over 5,000 litres of the alcohol. The seizers were made after the police conducted a raid in Sant Nagar area, she said.
