Amritsar, November 16

A Dubai-based businessman has announced that his NGO will provide assistance to devotees in filling their online forms to visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara. SP Singh Oberoi, founder of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, said his NGO would organise camps in this regard.

We will organise two special camps every month to provide services to the masses. The applicants may contact our volunteers in district units

Oberoi said, “We found that devotees are running from pillar to post to fill their online forms. Most of the people are not tech savvy. Cyber cafes are overcharging for applying online and are harassing the public. Observing the technical hurdle, we have decided to set up help desks in all districts from December 1.”

The Trust would provide the service free of cost. “We will organise two special camps every month to provide the services to the masses. The applicants may contact our volunteers in district units,” he added.

Earlier, Oberoi had offered a free visit to Kartarpur Sahib to 1,100 needy persons. The Trust will pay $20 for them. The service will be provided to the pilgrims who can’t afford the fee to visit the gurdwara. The trust will also help devotees to reach Dera Baba Nanak. — TNS
