MC gets one more month to complete delimitation survey

The Municipal Corporation has got another month to compile the data for the delimitation survey of MC wards. With this, the survey teams of the Municipal Corporation have got some respite and enough time to complete the survey.

Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sudan, who took charge of MC Commissioner on Friday, said Joint Commissioner Hardeep Singh is already doing the MC work. The MC staff will complete the delimitation survey within time.

On Friday, total 8,220 houses were surveyed for the delimitation survey by the Municipal Corporation teams. In the last 10 days, around 60,000 houses have been surveyed by the MC.

Hardeep Singh, MC Joint Commissioner, had constituted 7,000 blocks in city areas. Each block contains around 50 houses. There are around 3.5 lakh houses in the city. MC has deployed 300 employees under 10 officers to conduct survey in the city. As the Local Bodies Department extended time, an official said now the survey would be completed within time. “The group block officers and teams have been given a target to survey more than 10,000 houses every day. We are trying to complete the survey before the target and complete the entire process of delimitation within a month,” an MC official said.
