Hoax bomb call on Singapore-Amritsar flight creates panic

Panic gripped at Shri Guru Ram Das Jee International (SGRDJI) Airport after the authorities received call of bomb on the Singapore - Amritsar flight today evening. The airport authorities received a call from unknown caller around 5.30 pm, who claimed that bomb was fitted on Scoot flight, arriving from Singapore at 6.40 pm.

After getting the call security was tightened at the airport. The aircraft landed at the airport at 6.40 pm and was thoroughly examined by the CISF personnel. The passangers and their luggage was also checked by the security staff, who then allowed them to leave the airport.

Following the preliminary investigation, it was found to be a hoax call, said airport officials. The return flight to Singapore was scheduled at 7:40 pm, but due to checking it was delayed by one hour.

VK Seth, Director, SGRDJI Airport said, “After receiving call, we sounded an alert. The aircraft was checked by the CISF personnel, but nothing found in it. The return flight has been delayed by one hour.”
