Soil health cards and the water testing reports were distributed among farmers of Wan Tara Singh village at a programme organized by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Booh.

KVK officials said Dr Rajbir Singh, zonal project director fot the ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Ludhiana, presided over the programme.

Dr Singh, along with KVK team, visited Thattian Khurd, Burj Deva Singh, Burj Pulha, Kirtowal, Narli, Wan Tara Singh, Assal Uttar and Kot Budda villages and interacted with farmers of these villages to solicit their views on the happy seeder-sown wheat.

The farmers said the germination and growth of wheat with happy seeder was in good health and they hoped they would get good yield this time. Dr Navjot Singh Brar of the KVK said with the soil testing reports farmers were recommended to use fertilizers judiciously. Dr Balwinder Kumar, deputy director of the KVK, said in the current rabbi season, KVK team visited more than 100 villages of the district to urge farmers for in-situ management of paddy straw and brought more than 5,000 acres area under the practice.
