Constitution Day celebrated

Educational institutes on Tuesday observed Constitution Day in the premises here. The IIM, Amritsar, hosted several events and activities on Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.

The Students’ Council of the IIM conducted a pledge-taking ceremony at the campus while abiding by the Preamble to the Constitution of India. The event was marked by the presence of Prof Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, Director, IIM, Amritsar, and faculty members. Faculty and staff of the institute took the pledge along with students to honestly abide by the Constitution of India and promote justice, liberty, equality, fraternity among the citizens.

The media and public relations cell of the IIM, Amritsar, organised an article-writing competition on the topic “Constitution of India - A guiding light for everyone”.

Replicating the patriotic sentiments of the countrymen and joining Indians within India and across the globe in celebrating India’s Constitution on India’s Constitution Day, the management, staff and students of Spring Dale Senior School, while reiterating their love for the nation, pledged to uphold the rights, duties and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

With a view to apprising the students of the significance of the Indian Constitution, an introduction to the same was read out on the public address system of the school, after which the staff and students recited the Preamble to the Indian Constitution. Charts depicting the importance of the Constitution of India and Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect, were displayed in the exhibition area of the school, on the occasion.
