Constable, 3 others held with narcotics in Amritsar

The city police have nabbed three persons for drug peddling and recovered 370-gm heroin and 1-kg opium from their possession.

Cops from the Division C Police Station nabbed Ajay of Dhantal village for allegedly possessing 260-gm heroin. The police also impounded his motorcycle on which he was travelling. He was produced in the court and brought on police remand for further interrogation to ascertain the source of contraband.

Similarly, the Cantonment police arrested Vishal Kumar of Gawal Mandi area and recovered 110-gm heroin from his possession. He was also produced in the court that sent him to police custody.

In another incident, the CIA staff arrested a cop among two persons and confiscated 1-kg opium from him. Those arrested included constable with Punjab Armed Police Gurmehakpreet Singh of Vishavkarma Colony in Patti and Davinder Singh of Chahal village in Tarn Taran. The police also seized a motorcycle from them.
