Amritsar, January 20

City girl Bhavyasha Singh was among the selected students from the state to attend the third edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’, an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development and PM Narendra Modi, where the PM held direct interactions with students. Bhavyasha, a student of commerce stream in Class XI at the Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 21, Chandigarh, was joined by her parents at the dialogue. She’s a former student of DAV Public School here.

Her questions were not a part of the live telecast, but she managed to get a response from the PMO. “I asked two questions to the PM. First was that if he thinks that our education system was focused on grasping knowledge? And secondly, whether students should be given a chance to pen down what they feel just as they do in other subjects? To these, the PM replied that students should be encouraged to bring out their inner potential,” she said.

She said the overall experience of getting tips from the PM ahead of exams was quite motivating. “I think that it’s a unique initiative that talks about the pressure that students face, especially during examination days. It really motivated students,” she said. Bhavyasha said the PM’s advice to parents to not pressurise children to get ‘good marks’ was the need of the hour.
