CBSE Class X, XII board exams begin

On Day 1, exams for vocational subjects held

The the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams commenced from today. At least 30,000 students from the district would appear for the board exams for Class XII and 32,000 for Class X this year.

Today, the Class XII exam was held for vocational subjects that included entrepreneurship, Kokborok, capital market operation and physical activity trainer. The exam started at 10.30 am. The CBSE had announced that the board would not award any division, distinction or aggregate marks in Class X and XII board exams. Also, the board had taken into consideration the schedule of the NEET, the JEE and other competitive exams before releasing its own schedule for the board classes.

The CBSE Class X board exam started at 9.30 am for the vocational subjects that included painting, Gurung, Rai, Tamang, Sherpa and Thai. The Class X exam would continue till March 13 and Class XII till April 2.

The CBSE regional nodal officer said the exams were conducted smoothly on the first day. The regional nodal officer said flying squads and invigilator teams had been deployed at sensitive exam centres to avoid any incident of cheating or paper leakage.
