Amritsar Civic body takes over illegally occupied land

A team led by Dharminderjit Singh, MC Estate Officer, here on Tuesday removed encroachment from over 1,500 sq yard of land, which was illegally occupied by some persons by constructing a boundary wall, on the directions of the DC, in the presence of Duty Magistrate Akwinder Kaur, Naib Tehsildar Amritsar-2.

All-India Christian Samaj Morcha and Christian Peace Council of India had filed a complaint at the office of the DC (complaints branch). MC was receiving complaints from Punjab State Minorities Commission regarding illegal occupation of this land.

The MC had sent a letter to submit documents regarding the ownership of these lands, but no documents regarding the ownership was submitted by occupants. Hence, the MC took its possession. —
