30-yr-old man dies of drug overdose

A 30-year-old man died of drug overdose here on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Jujbir Singh, a resident of Aladinpur village. His body was found by family from nearby Jodhpur village.

Princepal Singh, cousin of the deceased, said Jujbir had gone to Jodhpur village on Tuesday buy drug. He said most addicts purchased drug from a particular point in Jodhpur village. He said a person gave him overdose of the drug resulting in his death on the spot.

Investigating officer sub-inspector Naresh Kumar said a case under Section 304 of the IPC had been registered against Karamjit Kaur, a resident of Jodhpur village, from whom the deceased had procured drug. The suspect was absconding, he said.

The deceased was a marginal farmer. His wife left him an year ago.
