3 die in accidents

Three persons died in two road accidents at two different places on Tuesday. In the first accident, Gurjant Singh (25) and his friend Akashdeep Singh (23), residents of Khadoor Sahib, died on the spot when their bike collided head on with a speeding tractor. The deceased were on their way back from Tarn Taran when they met with an accident. Tehal Singh, father of Gurjant Singh, told the Goindwal Sahib police that the duo had gone to Tarn Taran for some work and died on the spot in an accident near Kang village. A case had been registered againt tractor driver, identified as Jagrup Singh of Kang village. The wives of both the deceased were expecting their first child, said Tehal Singh.

In the second accident near Baba Sidhana village on the Chabal road, Jaganjot Singh (21) of Chabal Kalan was seriously injured when a speeding truck hit his bike from the rear and ran over him near Baba Sidhana. The truck driver fled from the spot leaving behind his vehicle. Jaganjot was admitted to the Civil Hospital from where his family took him to a private hospital in Amritsar. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment. A case was registered against truck driver.
