Three minor girls and one woman have been reported missing in the city.

Ramzana Begum, a resident of Janakpuri, has lodged a complaint with the police that her 15-year-old daughter Farzana, who works as domestic help, had left home on January 17 in the afternoon without informing anyone. She suspected that the girl might have been abducted by Mintu Kumar, a resident of Ganesh Nagar, on the promise of marrying her. The police have registered a case under sections 363/366-A of the IPC.

The Dehlon police have registered a case under section 346 of the IPC on a complaint of Durga Das, a resident of Gill village, who said in his complaint that his daughter Daljit Kaur, alias Deepi (22), had gone to the market on the evening of January 17 to purchase milk, but did not come back home. He suspected that the woman might have been detained by somebody against her wish. The police said the matter was being investigated.

The Shimplapuri police have booked Rahul and his accomplice, both residents of New Janta Nagar, under sections 363/366-A of the IPC for allegedly abducting a 13-year-old daughter of Tula Ram, a resident of New Janta Nagar. The father of the missing girl said in his complaint that his daughter had gone to Government School in Kot Managal Singh on the morning of January 17. He said the suspected persons might be behind the kidnapping of his daughter. The police have launched investigation.

Yet another girl (15) was reported missing from Hargobind Nagar locality. Preet Kaur, mother of the missing girl, told the police that her daughter had left home around 9.30 pm on January 13 and was not traceable. She said Sunil Kumar, son of her neighbour Ram Prasad, had been stalking the girl and he might be the one behind the abduction of the girl on the pretext of marriage.
