29 agri varsity students secure admission in foreign varsities

Ludhiana, January 20

As many as 29 students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have secured admissions in foreign universities to pursue higher studies during the 2018-2019 session. Many students have also bagged scholarships worth 18,000 to 28,000 US dollars.

Of these meritorious students, 16 are in Canada, 10 are studying in the US while the rest are settled in Australia and other countries. A total of nine students have taken admission in McGill University, Canada; and three each in the University of Saskatchewan and Texas Tech University, US. Other preferred higher education institutes include University of Guelph, University of Windsor, Fleming College and Durham College, Canada; University of South Dakota, South Dakota; and University of Louisiana, Louisiana.

Sarabjeet Singh, director, Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell, said the university motivated students to appear for GRE and pursue their higher studies by availing scholarships or full-fee waivers.

Vice-Chancellor Baldev Singh Dhillon and Gurinder Kaur Sangha, dean, postgraduate studies, congratulated the students. —TNS
