1 booked for raping minor

Patiala, January 12

The Patiala police have booked one person for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl in Samana town of the district. The police said the accused was a resident of Mardahedi village.

The victim told the police that the accused, who was known to her family, sneaked into her house when she was alone and raped her.

The police said a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s parents and the process to get conducted the medical examination of the rape survivor has been initiated. The police added that the accused was yet to be nabbed, however, raids were on to nab him. The SHO Sadar Samana police station, said that a probe into the matter was underway while the accused was yet to be nabbed. — TNS
