Actor-model Anjana Sukhani’s claim to fame is the Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate ad with superstar Amitabh Bachchan. She became the Cadbury girl and has since come a long way. Later, she made her debut in Bollywood with Salaam-e-Ishq, for which she garnered appreciation. We later saw her in Golmaal Returns. What followed was an entry into Marathi film industry, music videos and many ads. Recently, she played an important role in Good Newws and Mumbai Saga is another film where we will see her proving her mettle. For this actress, keeping calm is an essential part of staying fit.

My way of staying in shape

Meditation helps stimulate blood circulation in your body parts so I really love the process of meditation. I do yoga and other activities like going for morning walks, jogging, swimming and kickboxing.

Professional to personal need

It all started with the profession, which I have chosen to be in but eventually when you start getting benefits in the process of maintaining fit and healthy, it gradually becomes a part of your life. It plays a vital role in wellness.

I start with

My day begins with a lot of prayers, expressing gratitude towards life. Then follows exercise, a must for me, and next is planning the remaining day.

Meal box

As I am a vegetarian, so I prefer homemade food and vegetables mixed with pulses for protein. Breakfast can be light like South Indian, thus it is poha, upma, idli or a dosa and sometimes sandwich as well. I don’t consume roti much, but yes, I am a rice person. So, lunch is very simple like dal-rice, curd rice and dinner again is very light; it is much more of vegetables like stir fry veggies, soup, it all depends but mostly home food.

Much in control

Well, I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but once in a while I go for nice piece of chocolate cake. When I feel like indulging or have some sugar cravings then dates or jaggery goes well for me.

Bring variation

I am not a gym person or follow one thing for too long. I usually prefer doing yoga, going for a run or swimming. Sometimes, I go for Zumba classes, kickboxing or something else. As I get bored very easily, so every six months I keep changing my workout regime to suit my mind and body. On days when I am travelling abroad, I choose running mostly. If there are some constraints, then I do surya namaskars and skipping in my room.

Changing trends

Today’s focus is to be fit rather than look good or have abs, zero figure. Yes, there are still people, who make sacrifices for their onscreen image but honestly nowadays it’s not required. As far as you are concerned about staying fit and mindful, eat the right kind of food, stay spiritually connected, you are a part of the growing consent we feel today.

Focus on food

It takes a lot of patience and efforts to maintain a healthy life. It all revolves around the food you eat. I follow a lot of Ayurveda. Even after loving spicy food, I balance the diet chart as per my routine.

Happy mornings

I am more of a morning person and prefer good eight hours of sleep. Late nights are not my cup of tea and I usually avoid it. Early to bed is my go-to routine.

Follow it

Eating habits need to be appropriate whether you’re at home or out. Have healthy food, stay physically active, do exercises and meditate. Social media is a boon that way, which guides you.
