After being extremely consistent in the longest format of the game for quite some time now, India have qualified for their second successive World Test Championship final. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be taking on Australia in the summit clash, with the hope to lift their first ICC trophy after almost a decade.

Notably, players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are in sublime form at the moment while Ajinkya Rahane will be making his much-awaited return to the Indian team. The skipper himself has done well in Test cricket in recent times and also has a tremendous record in England. Other opener Shubman Gill meanwhile had a phenomenal IPL and would be hoping to continue in the same manner.

Meanwhile, the problem lies with the number six batter. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, KS Bharat was handed the opportunity to prove himself but the 29-year-old hasn't made any significant impact in the four matches that he has played so far in Test cricket. Thus, Ishan Kishan remains an interesting option as former players like Ricky Ponting and Mohammad Kaif have backed the stumper-batter for the summit clash.

When it comes to Australia, their bowling unit hasn't played enough matches in the recent past and thus, will be fresh for the upcoming WTC final, which is slated to begin on June 7. Marnus Labuschagne, who played five matches for Glamorgan in the County Championship Division Two recently, ended up scoring 502 runs and thus, is in brilliant form at the moment. Meanwhile, David Warner too has shown glimpses of his form in the nets.

Here’s the weather report for the WTC final

The first two days will be sunny in London and thus, it will be ideal to bat first after winning the toss. On Day 3, there are some chances of rain towards the evening and that might change the playing conditions on Day 4. There are chances of rain on the reserve day as well. Meanwhile, since it will be sunny in the first two days, the ball might start turning from Day 3 onwards.
