'Once a cheater always a cheater, that’s it' - Shubman Gill's 'controversial' dismissal by Third Umpire in WTC 2023 Final gets fans furious over Twitter

India are chasing a mammoth 444-run target against Australia in the ongoing WTC 2023 Final.

Shubman Gill Wicket

In the ongoing ICC World Test Championship Final, Australia hold a strong command even on day 4, as they set a gigantic target of 444 runs for India. In the afternoon session, the Aussies piled up on more runs courtesy of a brilliant knock by Alex Carey (66 off 105) and Mitchell Starc (41 off 57), which propelled their total to 270/8 in the second innings. Interestingly enough, upon getting dismissed in the form of eighth wicket, the Australian skipper Pat Cummins decided to declare the innings.

In reply, India started well as both the openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill played some good shots to hit the ground running for Team India. However, just before Tea, Scott Boland delivered a length ball which caused an extra bounce leading to Gill edging one to Australia's slip cordon and gully region. The lanky Cameron Green, who took a blinder of Rahane in the first innings, showed his brilliant reflexes and pounced the ball in the last moment to complete the catch.

However, the television replays showed inconclusive footage which led to controversy between the fans. While most fans believe, the third umpire turned a blind eye and ended up giving a wrong decision, on the other hand some believe that the evidence was enough to rule the decision as out. Hence this triggered fans to share their reactions on Twitter.

Let's have a look at how the fans reacted here:
